The Lord Jesus is sovereign over His church! In His message to the church in Philadelphia, He describes Himself as: "…He who is Holy, who is true…who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens…" Revelation 3:7. He has demonstrated His sovereignty over Maple Ridge as well. In a remarkably short period of time His "opening and shutting" resulted in the purchase of a 23,000 square foot church facility, in addition to owning approximately nine acres of land (rather than the old lot of approximately 7 acres). These nine acres are located just across the road from our old property and is even better suited for our future building plans. In addition to all this we gained a quarter of a million dollars in cash! To pull this off (in five months!), God brought together neighborhood associations, the Governor of the State of Indiana, University Trustees, our City Mayor, land developers, denominational officials, and another local church.
Our current facility at 3504 Morehouse Road On Saturday, February 7th, 2004, fifty thousand people picked up their morning copy of the Journal & Courier newspaper and read the front page headline article of what God had done for us. Our "story" was literally for His glory.
