Our
vision is to equip and mobilize the members and ministry of
Maple Ridge to communicate the gospel by word and deed to unbelievers
and to disciple new believers into becoming faithful followers
of Jesus Christ.
We define
a faithful follower of Christ as one who shows:
Grace
-- someone who has been saved by truth through grace in Jesus
Christ. They evidence a life lived by His grace. They share
His message of grace.
Growth
-- someone who is growing into Christlike maturity.
Group
-- someone who is living out their life in Christ in community.
They are accountable to others in applying God's word in their
lives.
Gift
-- someone who is applying their spiritual gifts edifying the
church and extending Christ's Kingdom.
Good
Stewardship -- someone who is honoring God with their resources.
-
We
understand that the lifestyle of reaching outward towards
others with the gospel is the outflow of our relationship
with Jesus.
-
We
unite evangelism with discipleship.
-
We
understand that evangelism and conversion is uniquely the
work of the Spirit and we endeavor to be led and empowered
by Him in our outreach and discipleship.
-
We
will not be concerned so much with number of professions of
faith in Christ as we are with lives being transformed by
the gospel.
-
We
endeavor to develop and maintain an evangelistic mindset and
lifestyle both personally and corporately.
-
We
believe that outreach and evangelism take place best in the
context of community.
-
We
will be strategic and contextualize when planning corporate
outreach efforts.
-
We
are committed to training and equipping members of Maple Ridge
for outreach and discipleship.
-
We
view people coming to a saving relationship in Jesus Christ
as a process with intercession for individuals being an integral
component to that process.
