What plenary sessions
and workshops did you find most helpful?
The number by each session/workshop indicates
how many people specifically named it as being helpful:

Richard Owen Roberts - 24

The Ministry of the Night by Gary Keisling - 1
Comments on why these and other topics of the Gathering
were most helpful:
All of the main sessions were excellent.
Also, I appreciated to some extent the
presentation of our cautiously charismatic history.
I really enjoyed all of the conference
and felt everything done was most helpful and informative.
All of them. One seemed to build on another.
The Lord spoke to me in each servcie - building, building, building.
I already knew about the baptism of the
Spirit but hearing Pastor Roberts speak was a blessing! Pastor
Dillaman, Sipley were also very encouraging! Paul King and Dr.
Cook were very informative and were wonderful to hear.
Organic Church - provided fresh
insight.
Ministry of the Night. Met my
need.
Repentance; liberty and freedom regarding
God's fullness; reality that we are a community of the faithful
and not private individuals; the focus on ministry to the lost,
hurting, rejected; recalling the history of the character and
culture of the C&MA.
All. It was encouraging, exhorting, and
it gave me permission to follow what God has already put in
me.
Healing - practical use.
Recapping Alliance History and
Rock Dillaman sharing "his heart's passion"
Richard Sipley - He is a blessing of
faithfulness and joy.
Putting the 'Divine' Back into Healing
- really sense the heart/power of God. The Whole Gospel for
the Whole Man - a real test of our spirituality.
Healing - why we don't receive the Holy
Spirit - these aren't addressed much in our seeker church. Why
we should receive the Holy Spirit.
Everything Rock preached.
Four-fold Gospel was most basic - too
basic for this? At very least too basic for its position. Tuesday
presentations were the best.
Helpful to hear and see how the C&MA
was a word and power movement, but we have let fear and other
factors inhibit us and rob us of God's power. Challenge to wholistic
ministry, justice in many forms, not just spiritualizing.
I found them helpful as I feel they were
desperately needed. I especially enjoyed the talk by Richard
Owen Roberts as he unfolded the word with such clarity. Praise
God for President Benedict and his transparency.
The three speakers on Tuesday really
brought encouragement and set the tone for the whole conference.
Excellent beginning.
It is really hard to put one above another.
All the topics, seemed to me, to build
upon each other.
Going with the Power, The Cross As
Our Pattern, Baptism of the Spirit, The Whole Gospel. Clear
and powerful challenges in these topics to act in response in
a practical way.
Going with the Power - we need
to realize the power available. The Baptism of the Spirit
and Fire - we need to know what they are. The Whole Gospel
for the Whole Man - a reminder of our obligation.
Going with the Power - Dillaman;
it underscores the Spirit filled life!
Dr. Richard Sipley, Dr. Arnold Cook,
Rock Dillaman - the Whole Gospel. Demonstration of God's
supernatural activity - to see what the outpouring of His Spirit
looks like.
The Baptism of the Spirit and Fire!
I have not heard outstanding speakers such as Rev. Roberts preaching
on this subject for a long time.
Teachings about the Holy Spirit and the
Baptism. I needed to hear and be reminded of His important role
in my life - to rekindle the fire.
All are essential as we seek the Lord!
Holy Spirit/Self - this is where I am.
All excellent. The Cross as our Pattern. Frequent exhorations
to proceed with call in power of Holy Spirit.
All. Each helped me to examine specific
issues that afforded me better understanding of the history
of the Alliance; I saw a need to examine many of these same
issues in my own life.
Alliance History! This encouraged
me to be most welcomed to use all the beautiful gifts God has
given me through the Holy Spirit, at last, within the C&MA,
where He has lovingly placed us.
Starting with Dr. Benedict's words really
set the tone to humble our hearts. All the topics were helpful
and enlightening. Rock Dillaman and Paul King brought a balance
as well as the deep thoughts of Richard Roberts and Richard
Sipley and Arnold Cook.
The cry of the President's heart when
he repented.
Repentance and the need to be committed
whole heartedly
spirit filled.
1). Roberts: H.S. power - exposed many
times, but need reminder and greater understanding of filling.
2). Persevering Prayer - whole pradigm shift from focusing on
problems to Christ! (duh!) 3). Ministry of Compassion - heard
in the context of evangelical teaching
All. The history of the Alliance was
previously unknown to many of us.
The wisdom shared by the Wednesday Discussion
Panel.
Repentance - if we don't start there
we desire the gifts for the wrong reason.
1). Messages on the cross and humility.
2). The Whole Gospel for the Whole Man 3). Alliance
History by Paul King Why? 1). I needed to hear this over
and over again. 2). Prophetic, riveting 3). Foundational historical
setting for the future
Perhaps more how-tos, practical application.
History of Alliance - greater
sense of who we are today and what we can be
Reaffirmation
of sanctification as foundation for fullness of Spirit (in turn,
foundation for mission).
