Welcome to our 2006 Rekindle the Flame
summary update. We've compiled the feedback we received from
the "Feedback" forms many filled out at the Gathering
along with input from subsequent meetings and phone calls. As
you read through the material we're confident you'll join us
in expressing gratitude and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ
for all He accomplished for His glory in and through the lives
of the people He gathered. The prayers He so graciously motivated
His people to pray; He so faithfully and graciously answered!
We also want to thank many of you who
gave us constructive criticism and words of encouragement. We
didn't know what to fully expect going into this Gathering
but we certainly knew we would learn a lot; and we did! Through
prayer and the process of sifting through the responses of participants
we believe the Lord is giving further shape and direction for
future Gatherings. There is a sense of spiritual "momentum"
coming out of this Gathering which we and the denominational
leadership we've consulted, believe we should continue to walk
in. So where do we go from here?
-
Plans are now tentatively
underway for a fall 2007
and a spring 2008 Rekindle the Flame Gathering. The
fall 2007 Gathering will again be hosted by Maple
Ridge Community Church and the spring 2008 Gathering
will
hosted by another Alliance church (yet to be determined)
outside of the Midwest region of the country. Look for the
promotional booth and watch for information on these Gatherings
at Council next year.
-
Gradually develop
an "Advisory Team"
-
Establish a website
or electronic newsletter for Rekindle
the Flame which would include among other things:
updates on future Gatherings, testimonies, ordering
information for tapes and CD's, recommended resources
and speakers, a place for comments and questions and an
email network for those who would like to interact with
other Gathering participants.
As followers of Jesus Christ each of
us are His new creations and as such are continually being transformed
by His Spirit into His image. We are a work of grace in progress.
This is no less true of what we believe the Lord intends through
these Gatherings. They will be works of grace in progress.
So we deeply covet your prayers and continued interest in what
the Lord has begun in the hearts of His people.
May what began as a spark in so many
hearts grow into a blazing passion for His glory!

The
Gathering Synopsis |

A summary update follows the outline
of the feedback form used at the Gathering, i.e. the Fuel, the
Format, the Future along with additional comments, suggestions
and testimonies (used with permission).
This
Alliance work is necessarily a deep
spiritual movement...built up by real
spiritual forces, by prayer, by faith,
by supernatural working in bodies
and
souls of men... It's
growth must
come from vital centers in the hearts
of living men
and women,
and increase
by closer fellowship with the life of God and the power of
the Holy Spirit. The Alliance truth is so fitted to satisfy
the instinctive longings of the hearts that God has touched
that it finds an echo in true souls when truly represented.
It is God's work for the times in which we live.
